Custom domains and free SSL for your short links

5 min readUpdated 2026-09-05

A short link on your own domain looks trustworthy and gets clicked more than a generic shortener. Here is how custom domains and automatic SSL work, and what you need to set one up.

Why a branded domain matters

People click links they recognise. A short link on your own domain signals that the destination is really yours, which lifts trust and click-through compared with an anonymous shortener that scammers also use.

  • Recognisable, on-brand links in emails, posts and ads.
  • Fewer clicks lost to “is this link safe?” hesitation.
  • Consistent branding across every campaign channel.

How domain verification works

Adding a custom domain is a quick, verified handshake so only you can send links from your brand. You add the domain in URL BOT, create the DNS record we show you at your registrar, and we confirm it before the domain goes live.

  • Add your domain or subdomain (for example links.yourbrand.com).
  • Create the DNS record we display at your DNS provider.
  • We verify ownership, then start serving your short links from it.

Free SSL, handled for you

Every custom domain is served over HTTPS with SSL handled automatically — there is no certificate to buy, upload or renew. Your visitors get a secure padlock, and your links never trip a browser security warning.

Plan availability

Custom branded domains are available on the paid plans, with DNS verification and free SSL built in on both.

  • Pro ($9/mo): up to 3 custom domains.
  • Business ($29/mo): up to 10 custom domains.
  • Bot Shield click-fraud protection is included on every plan, including Free.
